As programming work on our locative sound recording mobile phone application Audio-Mobile continues, the research team heads to Lancaster, UK for a special presentation and workshop on September 4th.

Audio-Mobile addresses (among other things) the ethnography of sound production.  It allows users to record location-based sound artifacts, soundscapes, and performances using their mobile phones – and then to share them on a public database.  From here, the recordings can be downloaded, analyzed, and applied to new compositions and investigations.
