Kendra Besanger is a Masters Candidate in the Media Studies program at Concordia University, in Montreal. She completed an undergraduate degree in political theory and philosophy at the University of Victoria. Her MA project is site-specific and asks questions about on the agentic capacities of space and materiality. Wild, scruffy, vague, toxic and reclaimed spaces; public space and place-making; the interstitial; ecological-based art and public art; and food security and urban agriculture all shape her research. Her practice-based work includes collaborative garden projects; creative and collaborative writing; photography; microscopic animation; a whimsical affair with book-binding; slow-to-emerge knitting projects; digital and analog collage; and a growing interest in soundscapes and podcasting.
